OLWQS volunteers David Jenkins and Birgit Arnstein
The Osoyoos Lake Water Quality Society (OLWQS) celebrated World Rivers Day today with some of its hard working volunteers painting yellow fish beside Osoyoos storm drains.
Protecting our lake and educating the public is the mandate of our society.
Yellow Fish by storm drains are a subtle reminder to avoid dumping dangerous chemicals etc. in the drains.
Special thanks to volunteers, Darlene Hovind, Verla Anderson, Barb Chipperfield, Althea Raum, Bob Sherwood, Neil Bousquet, David Jenkins and Birgit Arnstein.
We welcome new members and volunteers. Call (250) 408-5460 Please check out our Website: osoyooslake.ca and Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/OLWQS
What is World Rivers Day?
World Rivers Day is a celebration of the world’s waterways! It highlights the many values of our rivers, strives to increase public awareness, and encourages the improved stewardship of all rivers around the world. Rivers in virtually every country face an array of threats, and only through our active involvement can we ensure their health in the years ahead. https://worldriversday.com/

Bob Sherwood demonstrated how fast and easy it was to complete a fish painting

Barb Chipperfield and Althea Fredericka were clearly having fun while cracking jokes.

Darlene Hovid and Verla Anderson complete another fish painting.
