The Osoyoos Lake Water Quality Society has long enjoyed the support of La Stella Winery.
We were invited to participate in their 3D Non-profit advent calendar at their winery. Do drop by for a wine tasting and to view the wonderful display made by Lynne and Iain Fraser with the photo by Trevor Reeves. The stylized fountains in front of our beautiful lake are such an iconic view of our lovely town! The display will be available to view and learn about OLWQS until January 15, 2026.
OLWQS has been monitoring Osoyoos Lake since the early 90s during the summer months and also doing ice studies in the winter months.
Our data is shared with many organizations from the Ministry of Environment and Parks
to ONA, OBWB and even the IJC!
Lake temperatures along with dissolved oxygen have been closely followed as climate change has left its mark on our planet with each passing year.
OLWQS is a wholly volunteer driven non-profit organization. We welcome new members as well as active volunteers to sit on our Board of Directors, to participate in our lake monitoring, to help with fund raising activities and to participate in public education activities such as painting yellow fish, developing public education programs and materials.
