Message from the Osoyoos Lake Water Quality Society’s president, Birgit Arnstein.
“The Osoyoos Lake Water Quality Society (OLWQ) has long enjoyed the support of La Stella Winery.
This year we have been invited to participate in their 3D Non-profit advent calendar at their winery.
Our winter wonderland display will be featured on Wednesday December 24, 2025.
Lynne Fraser has designed a charming display with Osoyoos Lake in the background .
OLWQS has been monitoring Osoyoos Lake since the early 90’s during the summer months but also doing ice studies in the winter months.
Our data is shared with many organizations for the Ministry of Environment and Parks
to ONA, OBWB and even the IJC!
Lake temperatures along with dissolved oxygen have been closely followed as climate change has left its mark on our planet more and more.
The OLWQS is a wholly volunteer driven non-profit organization. We welcome new members as well as active volunteers to sit on our Board of Directors, to participate in our lake monitoring, to help with
fund raising activities and to participate in public education activities such as painting yellow
fish, developing public education programs and materials.
